As a Winnipeg Wedding Photographer, when I am asked if I do destination weddings, I’m always quick to say: Absolutely!! I was super excited when Katrina and Craig asked me to come with them to Mexico and be their wedding photographer.
Katrina and Craig could not have pick a more incredible location for their destination wedding! Their family and friends joined them for a week long celebration along the Mayan Riviera, Mexico.
Most of the guests arrived on the Saturday so we had lots of time to get to know their family and friends in the days leading up to the wedding. Whether it was hearing about their excursions that day, having dinner in the evenings, or getting to come along for Katrina’s stagette, it was an amazing experience!
The day of their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! Blue skies, warm sunshine, and lots of love was in the air for these two. Katrina & Craig planned what was the most fun filled wedding day. The ceremony was in the afternoon and was held in a gazebo overlooking the ocean. After moving into the shade of one of the hotels balconies, we had a great time with family photos. The little flower girl was so in love with Katrina’s dress that she tried hiding under it, fluffing it up in the air and even taking a ride on the train!
We were so lucky to have lots of time with these two to explore the grounds of the expansive hotel. I could have spent all day taking photographs of Katrina and Craig, so I am so grateful they humoured me as long as they could! We did have a party to get to!
Their reception was held on the beach, overlooking the water. Absolutely breathtaking! What was even more special was when the guests were invited to come and light a Chinese Lantern, and to send it off into the night’s sky with a wedding wish for the happy couple. So romantic!
I found out later that evening that it had always been a dream of Katrina’s to have a beach wedding. Katrina – your dream came true! You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day!
Congratulations Katrina and Craig! Thank you so much for bringing us along for the ride! We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
